CUVET BS&S Upgrades and Facilities Renovations Phase II

Background
The contract HDTRA1-24-C-0053 was awarded on September 17, 2024, to the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University (CUVET) on a sole source basis.
This action is for Phase II of biosafety and biosecurity upgrades and facility renovations at the CUVET Nakorn Pathom facility in Thailand.
CUVET is recognized as the leading veterinary teaching school in Thailand, established in 1935, with multiple campuses including a large animal hospital and training station in Nakorn Pathom.
The total value of the award is $1,726,358.

Work Details
The work to be performed under this contract includes:
1. Improvements to campus-wide waste management systems, building on those provided in Phase One.
2. Renovation of the teaching animal hospital infrastructure which includes:
- Anesthesia room
- Surgical operating room for small animals
- Surgical operating room for large animals
- Emergency room
- Outpatient Department room
- Outpatient dispensing room
- Inventory control & supply room
This renovation will restructure the facility to separate companion animals from livestock to prevent contamination.
3. Installation of a simplified solar and backup power system to reduce operating costs and ensure continuity of operations during power outages.
4. Provision of additional biosafety equipment.
5. Installation of a Closed Circuit Television system to enhance facility and personnel security.
6. Development of biosafety and security training and standard operating procedures guide.

The contract will be performed at the CUVET Nakorn Pathom facility in Thailand.
