Background
The Spin Electronics Group of the Physical Measurement Laboratory at NIST requires the purchase of cryogenic nano-positioners for their scanning superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) microscope. The goal is to obtain positioners that are interchangeable with existing scanners and controllers, which must be non-magnetic and compatible with cryogenic and high-vacuum environments.

Work Details
The contract involves the delivery of cryogenic nano-positioners with specific requirements:

1. Two z-stages:
- Non-magnetic (titanium body with ceramic bearings)
- Cryogenic compatible to 1 K
- High vacuum compatible to 1e-8 mbar or better
- Magnetic field compatible to 10T or higher
- Dimensions: Height 24 mm x 24 mm, Minimum z height 27 mm, Maximum z height 32 mm
- Weight: 55 g
- Travel range (step mode): 4.8 mm
- Maximum drive velocity @ 300 k: at least 2 mm/s
- Input voltage range: 0 - 60 v
- Fine linear positioning range @ 300 k: 3.5 µm; @ 4 k: 0.5 µm
- Encoding readout mechanism: resistive sensor encoded with resolution ~200 nm and power ≤1 mw
- Repeatability: at least 2 µm; Maximum load: at least 300 g; Maximum dynamic force along the axis: at least 3 n; Fully compatible with amc300 motion controller.

2. Two phi goniometer stages:
- Non-magnetic (titanium body with ceramic bearings)
- Cryogenic compatible to 1 K, high vacuum compatible to 1e-8 mbar or better, magnetic field compatible to 10T or higher
- Dimensions: Footprint height 24 mm x 24 mm; Distance from center of rotation to top: 51 mm.

14 weeks after receipt of order (ARO).
