Description

Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge (Refuge) announces a pre-solicitation to inform and gather feedback from interested parties regarding a potential campground concession opportunity. Responses received as part of this pre-solicitation could potentially aid the Refuge with the development of a concession prospectus. This pre-solicitation does not guarantee that the Refuge or the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) will either issue a prospectus or enter into a concession contract for any or all of the concession areas and amenities referenced in the attached Pre-Solicitation document. A site visit will be offered for interested parties to inspect the premises (see below and "Site Visit" in the attached Pre-Solicitation document for specific details).

A guided in-person site visit is scheduled for April 3, 2024. Contact Beth Kerley at beth_kerley@fws.gov for more information and to register for the tour. Interested parties must register to attend the site visit.

The Blue Heron Marina and Campground in Carterville, Illinois, encompasses approximately 20 acres and includes various facilities such as campsites, boat slips, fishing piers, and comfort stations. The Crab Orchard Lake Campground in Carbondale, Illinois occupies approximately 90 acres and includes campsites, comfort stations, a fish cleaning station, and a beach. The Refuge is considering offering up to a 20-year major concession contract for both facilities.

Period of Performance
The Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge anticipates advertising the prospectus around June 2024, with potential contract award(s) by September 2024.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Blue Heron Marina and Campground in Carterville, Illinois, and the Crab Orchard Lake Campground in Carbondale, Illinois.
