Background
The project, titled 'Correct FCA D and F Deficiencies Boiler Plant', is issued by the VA New Jersey Health Care System. The goal of this contract is to address and rectify the FCA rated deficiencies identified at the boiler plant located on the Lyons Campus. This initiative is crucial for ensuring the operational integrity and safety of the facility's heating systems.

Work Details
The contractor is required to furnish all labor and materials necessary for the construction tasks outlined in the specifications and drawings associated with Project 561A4-18-113. The work encompasses various construction trades, including:

- **Electrical Work**: Relocating and replacing exit lights with LED fixtures, replacing a 500kva transformer, adding a UPS to the main gas valve, installing seismic bracing for non-structural components, and providing power for new sump pump systems.

- **Plumbing Work**: Removing and replacing waste piping in the basement, installing new water service with backflow prevention, connecting a blow-down tank to existing utilities, and replacing an existing sump pump.

- **Mechanical Work**: Maintaining existing steam headers while replacing valves, fuel oil pump sets, meters on boilers, gas train piping, deaerator piping, and installing new air compressors and economizer relief piping.

- **Structural Work**: Installing grating above floor levels to prevent injury from falling debris and repairing oxidized steel columns.

- **General Trades**: Saw cutting basement floor slabs for plumbing access, preparing structural columns for finishing, installing beams and handrails on mezzanines, and ensuring proper backfilling and compaction of sub-grade soil.
