Description

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded a contract for evaluation and repair of Communications and Power Industries (CPI), part number VKC8387 NSN 5960-01-360-3639 for use in the Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR). The contract was awarded for one base year period with four one-year option periods to be exercised at the sole discretion of the FAA.

Communications and Power Industries is the only known source that can provide the repair and services to the TDWR Klystron tubes manufactured by CPI. CPI is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of this equipment. CPI exclusively owns the proprietary data rights for this Klystron tube and has not authorized any other vendor to repair the tubes.

A market survey (6973GH-23-MS-00003) was posted to the SAM.gov web site on October 26, 2022. No responses were received in response to the market survey. Additionally, a Notice of Intent to Single Source was posted to the SAM.gov web site on January 25, 2023.

Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity contracts with firm-fixed prices for evaluation and repair of klystron tubes for use in the TDWR system has been awarded to Communications and Power Industries (CPI), Beverly, MA
