Background
The Hershel Woody Williams VA Medical Center, located in Huntington, West Virginia, is dedicated to providing patient care. This solicitation aims to procure contingency laundry services to ensure that clean and sanitary linens are available for Veterans, even during disruptions in laundry operations. The goal is to maintain health, comfort, and dignity for Veterans while adhering to infection control standards.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide comprehensive laundry services including the washing, drying, ironing, and folding of various textiles such as general and surgical linens, uniforms, scrubs, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, towels, washcloths, mops, rags, and other related items. Specific tasks include:

1. Pickup and transportation of laundry textiles to the contractor’s facility.
2. Weighing each linen cart upon receipt and storing them until pickup.
3. Cleaning and processing soiled linens with appropriate supervision and training of staff in laundering procedures.
4. Packaging clean linens in the same carts they were processed from.
5. Weighing linen carts with government personnel present to verify weights for inventory accuracy.
6. Ensuring all employees comply with OSHA standards and maintaining proper safety protocols during operations.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a five-year period from February 1, 2026 through January 31, 2031.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the contractor's laundering facility.
