The Bar Harbor Breakwater extends approximately 2,500 linear feet southwest from Bald Porcupine Island and was constructed between 1889 and 1916. The final design of the breakwater consisted of a 20-ft crest at 11 ft MLLW with 1H:1V side slopes, although the crest width was only constructed to 10-ft wide. The proposed work consists of repairing two large portions and a few small areas of a rubble mound breakwater structure that has been damaged from storms since its completion in 1916.
