Description

The Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA's) mission is to improve mobility of our Nation's highways through national leadership, innovation, and program delivery. For the Office of Infrastructure Research and Development (HRDI), accelerating project delivery via accelerated construction with quality and safety is a means by which we advance the mission. In addition to accelerating construction, FHWA would also like to increase efficiency in highway construction and project delivery. This contract provides an opportunity to advance this mission through the development and demonstration of technologies and practices, such as Civil Integrated Management/Building Information Modeling (CIM)/(BIM) for infrastructure. In addition, this contract will advance the mission of automated equipment control, alternate project delivery and others to advance their integration into policies and practices. These policies and practices will enhance quality and efficiency of highway and bridge construction project delivery in the future. This requirement is to perform highway infrastructure construction and project delivery research and development, as well as technology transfer, demonstration, implementation and technical support.
