CONSTRUCT F-16 FLIGHT SIMULATOR FACILITY at JOINT BASE ANDREWS, MARYLAND   6

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District (NAB), has been tasked to solicit for and award construction services for Construction of an F-16 Flight Simulator Facility at Joint Base Andrews, MD. The proposed project will be a competitive, firm-fixed-price, contract procured via an Invitation for Bid (IFB).

Work Details
This project is to Construct a 13,000 s.f. 4-Ship F-16 MTC facility utilizing conventional design and construction methods to accommodate the mission of the facility. The new facility shall be designed to support a new 4-ship F-16 MTC simulator capable of housing 4 simulator bays, training rooms, administrative support areas, storage, and restroom space.
Each simulator bay must be large enough to accommodate an eight channel, 360-degree field of view display with sufficient space to facilitate installation, removal, operation, and servicing. The facility will be designed as permanent construction per the DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 1-200-01, General Building Requirements and UFC 1-200-02, High Performance and Sustainable Building Requirements. The facility should be compatible with applicable DoD, Air Force, and base design standards. In addition, local materials and construction techniques shall be used where cost effective.
Special Construction Requirements include raised flooring as required, high bay area for simulators, 30-Ton air conditioning, and Secure Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) specifications and construction ICD/ICS 705 is necessary for most of the facility.

Period of Performance
Construction duration is approximately 18 months from Notice to Proceed (NTP).
