Construction of a Child Development Center (CDC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Construct a new Army large 6 weeks to 5 years old child development center, 37,300 SF. Extensive pre-school level playgrounds are included. The facility will accommodate 338 pre-school children, to include infants, pre-toddlers; toddlers; and pre-kindergarten ages. Utilities, road relocation, and significant earthwork requiring surcharging are included.

Background: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District intends to solicit and award a contract to construct a new child development center at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The purpose of this project is to construct a new Army child development center that can accommodate 338 pre-school children, including infants, pre-toddlers, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten ages. The facility will be 37,300 square feet in size and will include extensive pre-school level playgrounds. The project also involves utilities, road relocation, and significant earthwork requiring surcharging. The contract will be a firm fixed price type design-bid-build (DBB) contract.
