Condensate Vacuum Line Repair

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to replace deteriorated steam condensate vacuum return lines at the American Lake VA Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. This project supports the VA's mission to provide quality healthcare services by ensuring the functionality of systems that supply hot water and heating to various facilities within the campus.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Utility locates for the excavation site.
2. Providing fencing and signage for the excavation site.
3. Mobilizing equipment for the project.
4. Saw cutting asphalt and concrete for removal.
5. Removing asphalt and concrete, with disposal on-site in a designated area.
6. Excavating dirt to expose the top of the steam utilidor, with dirt also dumped on-site in a designated area.
7. Removing concrete steam utilidor lids to expose steam tunnel piping.
8. Providing trench boxes for safety during excavation.
9. Abandoning existing steam condensate vacuum return lines in place.
10. Supplying new 2”, 2½”, and 3” condensate vacuum return lines and assisting VA pipefitters in replacing 450 feet of these lines, where VA personnel will weld sections together and install hangers.
11. Reinstalling steam utilidor lids after replacement, including replacing any broken lids encountered during work.
12. Filling excavated areas with 5/8 crushed rock, backfilling, compacting fill areas, and preparing for asphalt replacement.
13. Replacing removed asphalt and hot tar seams, as well as sidewalks and curbing, followed by restriping parking area lines.

Bidders must be registered and may include Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), Small Business Manufacturers, or other Small Businesses interested in this project. Bidders must provide proof of authorized dealer or reseller status if not a manufacturer, and all equipment must be new with no used or refurbished items accepted.
