Description

The Michael E. Debakey VAMC has a need for Contractor to replace existing Condensate
Return Unit with a Fulton brand name or equal, 550 Gallon (Orientation Horizontal # Pumps 2
Pump Voltage 460V/3Ph/60Hz including control panel non-code. Design Pressure Atmospheric
Pump Discharge Pressure: 20 PSIG, flow Rate: 90 Gallons Per Minute Standard Features and
Trim: Carbon Steel Tank Shell - Pump Alternator. Connections for condensate return, vent,
overflow, drain, and pump discharge- Pump Setup: One pump operating, and one pump in
backup.

Background
The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center requires a contractor to replace an existing condensate return unit. The goal of this contract is to ensure the facility has a functional and efficient condensate return system that meets specified technical requirements.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials for the delivery and installation of a turn-key condensate return unit with control panel, brand name Fulton or equal, in Mechanical Bay 8 at the Michael E. DeBakey Medical Center. The specifications include:

- 550 Gallon capacity
- Horizontal orientation with 2 pumps (operating voltage 460V/3Ph/60Hz)
- Atmospheric design pressure
- Pump discharge pressure of 20 PSIG
- Flow rate of 90 gallons per minute.

Standard features include a carbon steel tank shell and pump alternator with connections for condensate return, vent, overflow, drain, and pump discharge. The contractor will also be responsible for the installation of drains, associated valves, start-up, and testing of all components. Full installation may occur during or after hours to minimize operational shutdowns. Additionally, steam condensate piping must be prefabricated with specific requirements for pipe material (carbon steel ASTM A53/A53M Grade B or ASTM A106/A106M Grade B), joint types (butt-welded for larger pipes and threaded/butt-welded/socket-welded for smaller pipes), fittings (welded joints must meet ASTM standards), unions on threaded piping (for pipes 50 mm and under), and flanges (forged steel weld neck).

Period of Performance
The work will be performed over a period of 90 days following the award date.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center located in Houston, Texas.
