Description

Contract Requirements Package for Compression Tester

Please see PWS Requirements in Solicatation attached.

1. The ASC Packaging, Storage, and Containerization Center (PSCC) at Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) has a requirement for a Compression Tester to determine compression and stacking strength of packages used by the Department of Defense for packaging and shipping materiel.

2. Request this procurement be awarded on or before 29 September 2023.

3. The period of performance will not exceed nine (9) months beyond contract award date.

Background
The ASC Packaging, Storage, and Containerization Center (PSCC) at Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) has a requirement for a Compression Tester to determine compression and stacking strength of packages used by the Department of Defense for packaging and shipping materiel. The period of performance will not exceed nine (9) months beyond the contract award date.

Work Details
The system shall be a top load compression machine meeting specific requirements such as simulating top load compressive forces up to 50,000 lbf, but not exceeding 60,000 lbf, and being capable of simulating a minimum top load compressive force of 500 lbf. The system shall have an extended platens measuring at least 60 x 72 in. The contractor shall provide utility requirements within three (3) weeks of award.

The contractor shall perform routine checks to confirm system functions upon completion of installation. Contractor shall provide Certificate(s) of Calibration traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards or test standards to use to calibrate. Delivery and services shall be provided between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST), Monday through Thursday, excluding all Federal holidays.

Period of Performance
The period of performance is nine (9) months after the award date.
