Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office located in Grand Prairie, Texas intends to make a single award for the provision of Comprehensive Medical Services for the U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners located in Springfield, Missouri. Offerors are encouraged to submit comprehensive proposals providing all listed outputs. Offerors who propose less will be evaluated accordingly. Services to be provided include inpatient/outpatient facility and physician services, and outpatient institution services. The contract type is an indefinite delivery/ requirements type contract with firm-fixed unit pricing. The contract shall consist of a Base Year and four 12 month option years for renewal. The estimated quantities for the Base Year and all Option Years are as follows:

Inpatient Days: 492 estimated days

Outpatient Visits: 844 estimated visits

Due to the volume of information, quantities of outpatient institution services will be provided in the solicitation document. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the official U.S. Government system for contract opportunities website at https://sam.gov/content/home. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure they have the most up to date information about this acquisition.

Background
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is responsible for the custody and care of approximately 157,517 Federal inmates. Established in 1930, the BOP aims to provide humane care for inmates and ensure consistent administration. The BOP seeks to maintain health standards for inmates through cost-effective healthcare consistent with community standards.

This solicitation is for Comprehensive Medical Services at the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (USMCFP) located in Springfield, Missouri.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Comprehensive Medical Services including:
1. Inpatient facility services: Estimated 492 inpatient days per year.
2. Outpatient visits: Estimated 844 outpatient visits per year.
3. Professional medical services that conform to community standards and applicable laws.
4. Management of medical record information to promote continuity of care.
5. Submission of properly-priced invoices for services rendered.
6. Maintain communication between contract providers and the institution regarding services.
7. Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in healthcare delivery.
