Compound Security Upgrade: Window Replacement Project 8(a) Set-Aside

Background
The United States Government, Department of State, Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations requires project development, design, and construction services for a window replacement project in Cairo, Egypt. The project scope includes a blast study design requirement and replacement of interior window frame assembly; to include the existing steel window frame assembly with new aluminum, thermally broken window frames with all-glass Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) glazing panels or a glass clad polycarbonate IGU. The project site is a high-rise (multi-story) building in OCONUS location.

Work Details
The project scope includes complete design and construction (renovation) services, contract coordination, and supervision, including but not limited to the management, professional design services, and construction (renovation) services necessary to meet the requirements within the established schedules.

The project solicitation will consist of two phases. Phase I involves Omnibus Pre-Qualification of Offerors and Phase II involves Requests for Proposals from Pre-Qualified Offerors. The types of design services to be provided may include architecture, structural, geo-technical, seismic, blast, and fire protection engineering; sustainable design and use of recovered materials; physical and technical security; vertical transportation; design and construction scheduling; cost estimating; value engineering; and administrative coordination of the various disciplines involved.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed in Cairo, Egypt.
