Airspace Mission Planning Division seeks proposals for the Communication, Surveillance, Navigation/ Air Traffic Management Agile Effort (CNS/ATM) FOPR. Please see the FOPR Letter for Key Dates including when Letter of Intent, Question and Answers, and Proposals are due. The US Air Force Mission Planning Systems (MPS) is a collaborative Department of Defense (DOD) program that leverages technical solutions and practices for all DOD aerial platforms. MPS enables mission planners to create a flight plan based on multiple inputs including threats, targets, terrain, weather, aircraft performance capability, configuration and other factors. The planner must have the ability to plan cargo, passenger, and/or fuel delivery, calculate fuel requirements, and assess the route based on known threat location and type. Mission planners must optimize and de-conflict flight routes with other aircraft, review, print, and brief the plan; download pertinent flight information to on-board aircraft avionics; and, conduct dynamic/in- flight re-planning as applicable to successfully complete the directed mission. The Communications, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) Program Suite was created in order to provide United States Air Force (USAF) the capability to build navigational databases that meet the requirements of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Type 2 Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for CNS/ATM equipped aircraft.
