Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration is issuing this Combined Synopsis Solicitation for tree maintenance and removal services at Calverton National Cemetery. The goal of the contract is to ensure the proper care and maintenance of trees within the cemetery grounds, which honors the service members, Veterans, and their families. The contract is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB).

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide comprehensive tree removal and maintenance services including:

1. Pruning and removal of trees under the guidance of an ISA Certified Arborist, adhering to industry standards such as ANSI Z133.1 & ANSI A300.

2. Crown cleaning and deadwood pruning involving the removal of dead or diseased branches.

3. All tree limbs over 3.5 inches in diameter must be lowered safely using cranes or ropes; no dropping of branches is permitted.

4. Daily cleanup of all debris from tree removals, ensuring no damage to headstones or cemetery structures occurs during operations.

5. Stump grinding to a depth of at least 4 inches below soil surface with proper disposal of grindings and restoration of the site with topsoil and grass seed.

6. The Contractor must ensure that all work is performed with respect for cemetery operations and that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent damage to property.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will be 45 working days from the receipt of award.
