Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration, is responsible for honoring Veterans with a final resting place and lasting memorials.

Raleigh National Cemetery, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, is a National Shrine listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The cemetery is closed to new interments but performs subsequent burials in existing graves. The Contractor's work must reflect the nation's concern for those interred there, adhering strictly to contract specifications.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies necessary for grounds maintenance, burial support, and janitorial services at Raleigh National Cemetery.

Specific tasks include:
1) Grounds Maintenance: Regular upkeep of cemetery grounds to ensure a dignified appearance;
2) Burial Support: Coordination and execution of interment services including excavation and backfilling of gravesites for both casketed and cremated remains;
3) Janitorial Services: Maintaining cleanliness in cemetery facilities including restrooms.

The Contractor must adhere to operational standards that reflect reverence for the site as a national shrine.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a base year with four (4) one-year options if exercised.
