The project aims to enhance coastal resilience through the construction of a dune and beach berm along approximately 3.4 miles of shoreline. The primary goal is to protect the area from storm surges and erosion while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of a dune and beach berm using beach-compatible sand dredged from borrow areas A1 and A2, located approximately 3.8 nautical miles offshore in Federal waters. Key tasks include:
- Placement of sand between Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Range Monuments R-98 to R-01 in Martin County.
- Coordination with endangered species observers for hopper dredges, including sea turtle trawl sweeping and turbidity monitoring.
- Beach tilling and quality control for fill material.
- Implementation of a Hazardous Energy Control Program (HECP) in accordance with EM 385-1-1 standards, including lockout/tagout procedures for worker safety.
- Establishment of a fall protection program for employees exposed to fall hazards during operations.
- Conducting biological monitoring to ensure no unpermitted impacts to hardbottom resources occur due to construction activities.
