THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)

The United States Agency for International Development in Egypt (USAID/Egypt) is in the process of designing a new multiyear activity to increase the capacity, sustainable productivity, and incomes of key stakeholders in Egypt's agriculture market systems.

This is a Request for Information (RFI), providing public information to parties interested in USAID's support in Egypt, and seeks to collect any information and suggestions about USAID's planned programming.

The RFI is issued solely for informational and planning purposes. It does not constitute a request for proposal or application, nor promise to issue a future solicitation.

Background
The United States Agency for International Development in Egypt (USAID/Egypt) is in the process of designing a new multiyear activity to increase the capacity, sustainable productivity, and incomes of key stakeholders in Egypt’s agriculture market systems. USAID has partnered with Egypt to enhance its agricultural sector for more than 40 years, investing more than $1.4 billion in U.S. assistance. The purpose of a future USAID/Egypt agriculture activity will be to transform the agriculture and food system toward sustainable production, economic growth, and efficient climate resilience practices. This includes promoting Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), advancing climate smart approaches and technologies, and increasing private sector market linkages for greater inclusive economic growth in Egypt.

Work Details
The project seeks to create a set of complementary activities that promote Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), improve the enabling environment for sustainable agriculture and food security, and enhance the capacity of Business Development Service (BDS) providers for Greater Inclusive Economic Growth.

The proposed purpose of a future USAID/Egypt agriculture activity will be to improve climate resilient agricultural market systems with specific intermediate results (IR) including improved sustainable productivity of small-farmers, strengthened role of market-driven services providers, improved enabling environment for agriculture and food security, increased gender equality and female and youth empowerment, enhanced integration of digital technologies.
