Chrome Plating Facility Repair Project, Watervliet, NY   4

The scope of the Chrome Plating Facility Repair Project is to in-kind repair and replacement of major components of the large caliber chrome plating area, specifically the "120 mm pit." The 120 mm pit is used for cannon tube plating and includes chrome plating tanks, electropolish tanks, a caustic clean tank, a caustic strip tank, rectifiers and cold water rinse tanks. These tanks are divided into two (2) plating lines identified as the 200 and 300 lines. In kind repair and replacement of components will address numerous deficiencies such as many of the tank wall thicknesses are well beyond their serviceable life and need to be replaced due to corrosion or loss of function. The piping systems show corrosion and need to be replaced. The pumps have operated beyond useful life and need to be replaced. Many of the control elements are nonfunctional and need to be replaced to control the process. In summary, both the 200 and 300 lines need to be rebuilt in kind for safe and efficient operation. Additionally, the air scrubber, common to both lines is being replaced.

It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor the SAM web-site for any amendments. Bidders/Offerors are required to be registered in the System for Award Management (see www.sam.gov).

The period of performance for this project is 720 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date.
