Chiller compressor replacement and Alexandria LA VA Medical Center

Background
The Alexandria Louisiana VA Medical Center (VAMC) is seeking sources for a potential upcoming formal solicitation to replace two compressors in Chiller #2, which is critical for maintaining a reliable chilled water supply for hospital operations.

The current compressors are not operational, impacting system efficiency and redundancy. The goal of this contract is to restore full capacity and reliability to the chiller system, which is currently operating at only 60% capacity.

Work Details
The contract involves the replacement of two existing 500 series compressors (model TT500-G9-1-ST-E-O-NC) with two new 700 series compressors (model TTS700HGS2S010X0XXS415). The contractor will be responsible for:
- Conducting a site assessment and pre-replacement inspection.
- Furnishing all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the work.
- Safely shutting down the chiller system without interrupting critical facility operations.
- Isolating the existing compressors from all power sources and refrigerant lines.
- Draining refrigerant from the compressors following EPA guidelines.
- Disconnecting all electrical and control wiring from the existing compressors.
- Removing ancillary components associated with the 500 Series compressors.
- Dismantling and removing the 500 Series compressors using appropriate rigging and lifting equipment.
- Installing the new 700 Series compressors while ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening.
- Conducting initial inspections, leak tests, functional tests under no-load conditions, and validating system performance under full-load conditions.
- Providing training to on-site staff on operation procedures, routine maintenance schedules, troubleshooting guidelines, and delivering comprehensive documentation including user manuals and operation guidelines.
