Child Development Center Construction at Ft Leavenworth, KS   4

Background
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District intends to solicit and award a Design-Bid-Build (DBB) contract for the construction of a Child Development Center (CDC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The project is an Unrestricted/Full and Open competitive acquisition, allowing both small and large businesses to respond. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP), full and open to all businesses.

Work Details
The construction project involves building a standard design child development center for 338 pre-school children at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The scope includes the construction of a playground with age-appropriate child development equipment, safety surfacing, and fencing; implementation of cybersecurity, sustainability, energy, and anti-terrorism measures; installation of building information systems, energy monitoring control systems (EMCS) connection, intrusion detection system (IDS), closed-circuit television (CCTV), intercom system installation, access control and public address system, fire protection and alarm systems.
Supporting facilities include site development, utilities and connections (gas, electric, water and wastewater), lighting, paving, parking, walks, storm drainage, information systems, landscaping, and signage.
Heating and air conditioning will be provided by self-contained systems. The facilities will be designed to a minimum life of 40 years in accordance with DoD's Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC 1-200-02) including energy efficiencies, building envelope and integrated building systems performance.

Period of Performance
The estimated performance period for completion of construction is about 970 calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas.
