Background: The Charleston Non-Emergent Ambulance Transportation Services contract is being issued by the Charleston VA Medical Center. The purpose of the contract is to provide a twenty-four-hour ambulance service for the beneficiaries of the Charleston VAMC, including routine or nonemergency, urgent, and same-day services requirements. The contract has a five-year period of performance, from December 16, 2023, to December 15, 2028. The minimum guaranteed amount under this contract is $50,000 for the initial fiscal year, and the maximum ceiling amount is $22,000,000.

Details: The contractor is responsible for furnishing and managing the necessary personnel, materials, services, and facilities to provide basic life support units, advanced life support (critical care) unit ambulance services, and stretcher transportation services for the Charleston VAMC. The vehicles used must meet industry standards for maintenance and equipment. The contractor must have a dispatcher available 24/7 to receive transportation requests.
