Changer Labs GEN-II motor control system upgrade

Background
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Radioactivity Group is tasked with establishing and disseminating standards for radioactivity measurements in the United States. A critical component of their measurement services is the NIST Automated Ionization Chamber (AutoIC), which provides calibration services, Standard Reference Materials (SRMs), and proficiency testing.

NIST intends to upgrade the existing GEN-1 motor control system with a Changer Labs GEN-II motor control system, which will serve as a drop-in replacement for the legacy system used in the AutoIC.

Work Details
The contract involves providing a Changer Labs GEN-II motor control system upgrade that includes the following components:
- GEN-II electronics panel (3 axis)
- Smart motor modules for all motor movement and positioning
- Ethernet interface
- Exclusion of Dragon drivers or Micro drivers
- A parts list must be included
- Front panel compatible with existing NIST GEN-1 enclosure
- Control software that is a native Windows application compatible from Windows XP through Windows 11, combining functionalities of GEN-1 Robot.exe and DOS PC Changer program.
- Support for new motor drivers and minimal programming interface with NIST ion chamber software.
- Efficient transfer of settings from the GEN-1 system.
- Source code for control software and a user manual must be included.
