CH-53K LRIP Lot 5 and Option Lot 6 Aircraft   4

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) issued a contract modification N00019-20-C-0047-P00004 to Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, A Lockheed Martin Company for the procurement of Lot V and Option Lot VI Low Rate Initial Production for nine and an option of nine CH-53K Heavy Lift aircraft, associated aircraft, programmatic & logistics support, and option calender year (CY) 2022 for production system engineering and program management support. Requirements were procured in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2), in that Sikorsky is the designer, developer, and sole producer of the CH-53K aircraft and the only known source that possesses the data, technical skills, and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, operation, maintenance, and support characteristics of the CH-53K to fulfill this need in a timely manner.
