Naval Air Systems Command, CH-53K Helicopters Program, PMA-261 awarded a Delivery Order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-19-G-0029 to the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, a Lockheed Martin Company on a sole-source basis to procure 17 GAU-21 A-kits, kit# 06070-20017-013 that are necessary to incorporate CH-53K GAU-21 Window and Door Common Defensive Weapon System (WDCDWS) Sikorsky capabilities into the CH-53K aircraft.

Sikorsky is the designer and developer of the aircraft for the CH-53K helicopter, and, accordingly, is the only known responsible source with the requisite knowledge, capability, experience, technical data, and test equipment necessary to fulfill the Government's requirements in a timely and cost effective manner. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10USC 2304(c)(1), as instructed by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
