CDC's FY2024 Broad Agency Announcement for Applied Research to Address Emerging Public Health Priorities   2

Background
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue the Fiscal Year 2024 Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for Applied Research to Address Emerging Public Health Priorities under Request for Proposal number 75D301-24-R-72894. This BAA is an expression of interest only and does not commit the Government to make an award or pay white paper or proposal preparation costs generated in response to this announcement. The BAA will invite interested offerors to contribute innovative ideas in specific areas of interest. The specific areas of interest will be detailed in the BAA, a list is provided in Attachment 1 of this notice.
This is not a request for white papers or proposals. No response to this notice is requested or required. The Broad Agency Announcement solicitation will be posted on beta.SAM.gov on or before December 31, 2023. Interested parties must respond to the announcement in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract action. The Government will not maintain a bidder's list for this procurement. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring beta.SAM.gov regularly for release of the announcement and any amendments.

CDC’s FY2024 Broad Agency Announcement for Applied Research to Address Emerging Public Health Priorities includes specific areas of interest such as developing data and analytical applications for public health using generative and conversational artificial intelligence (AI), use of Semantic Knowledge Graphs for Disease Ontologies, Data Standardization, and Epidemiological Surveillance, methods, workflows, and architectures to establish and facilitate Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), identifying strategies to strengthen community clinical linkages for people with diabetes and prediabetes in communities that experience disparities in diabetes outcomes linked with unfair and unjust social, economic, and environmental disadvantages, innovations in Anopheles stephensi surveillance, control, and genomics, advancing the control of dengue vectors by applying novel persistent, long-lasting larvicides or insect growth regulators to household containers that accumulate water and produce Aedes mosquitoes, innovative approaches to pathogen agnostic infectious disease surveillance, culture-independent sequencing, and multi-pathogen bioinformatic and data integration, novel methods to control or prevent bites by Ixodes scapularis ticks, advancing Fungal Disease Surveillance: Integrating Longitudinal Treatment and Outcome Data for Enhanced Public Health Insights, respiratory virus sequencing from wastewater, animal input into wastewater systems, alternative applications of wastewater surveillance, shedding of respiratory viruses in wastewater, metagenomic studies to better characterize the ecological distribution of endemics, novel methods to assess the burden of pneumococcal disease among populations at increased risk, strengthening pertussis surveillance and diagnostics by improvements in antigen production, Group A Streptococcus (GAS) disease incidence and genetic relatedness in populations disproportionately affected by GAS, advanced genomic and AI-driven diagnostic solution for rapid detection of infectious diseases, next-generation AI-driven community contact tracing and exposure notification for enhanced disease control,
assessing the difficulty of producing infectious select agent positive RNA viruses from genomic material.
