Catholic Religious Education Coordinator

Background
The contract is issued by the Columbus Air Force Base Chapel to provide leadership and administrative support for Catholic Religious Education (RE) programs. The goal of the contract is to ensure effective management of RE events, resource allocation, and adherence to the Catholic faith's educational requirements.

Work Details
The Catholic RE Coordinator will be responsible for:

- Providing leadership and administrative support for Catholic RE programs.
- Working closely with the Catholic Chaplain or Auxiliary Priest.
- Developing budgets, program schedules, and publicity.
- Coordinating sacramental preparation programs including First Communion, Reconciliation, and Confirmation.
- Creating an annual curriculum in accordance with Archdiocese guidelines.
- Managing resources and supplies.
- Co-leading Vacation Bible School.
- Ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
- Recruiting and training volunteers.
- Monitoring classroom policies.
- Maintaining records of students and volunteers.
- Submitting monthly payment requests based on hours worked.
- Attending relevant meetings.

The contractor must also ensure that all individuals working with children have passed background checks as mandated by law.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is from September 28, 2026, to September 27, 2027, with options for three additional years.

Place of Performance
Columbus Air Force Base Chapel.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have an in-depth knowledge of the Catholic Faith and a commitment to it. They must provide a resume with references validating their experience in coordinating Catholic RE events. A minimum of one year’s experience in this role is required. Completion of the Catechist Certification Program within six months post-award is mandatory. Bidders must demonstrate skills in budget management related to RE programs and complete a personnel background check application within twenty working days after award. Contractors must work professionally in a pluralistic environment without denigrating other faiths.
