Case Modifications

Background
The Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) is issuing this solicitation for the modification of enclosures used in Data Transfer Devices (DTDs) to accommodate new PCB designs and avoid physical interferences.

The goal of the contract is to repurpose existing inventory of DTD cases for various military applications, including F-22, C130, and C5 aircraft.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform mechanical modifications on 200 existing DTD enclosures as follows:
1. Modification of MEA-204002 Side A:
- Modify ten (10) units as per provided documentation for first article inspection.
- Upon approval, modify one hundred ninety (190) additional units.
2. Modification of MEA-204003 Side B:
- Remove plastic frames from ten (10) units and retain them for return to DMEA upon project completion.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and will continue until all modifications are completed, with specific timelines for delivery and inspection outlined in the performance specifications.

Bidder Requirements
This solicitation is set aside for Women Owned Small Business Sole Source (WOSBSS). Bidders must demonstrate relevant experience in mechanical modifications of electronic enclosures and possess necessary technical capabilities to meet the project requirements.
