Canon ProStream Press Installation Design Build

Background
The Government Integrated Printing Services (GIPS) is undertaking a design-build project to facilitate the installation of a new Canon ProStream 2133 Printing Press at the Government Publishing Office (GPO) main campus located in Washington, DC.

The project aims to enhance the capabilities of the GPO by integrating advanced printing technology into their operations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing architectural and engineering (A/E) design services as well as construction services necessary to ensure that the building is compatible with the new printing press.

The installation involves two primary components:
1. Positioning the printing press on the production floor,
2. Installing a cooling unit at a location determined by the contractor.

The scope includes site assessment, design and documentation, construction phase activities, and post-construction quality validation and closeout.
