Background
The solicitation is for the Calcasieu River and Pass, LA, Maintenance Dredging FY23, Mile 17.0 to Mile 36.0, in Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes, LA. The work consists of removal of material from within the Calcasieu River Ship Channel and satisfactory disposal within the designated Confined Disposal Facilities adjacent to the Calcasieu River and Pass. Optional work includes removal of material from Devil’s Elbow, the A4 Turning Basin, the turning basin at mile 36.0 of the main channel, and reaches from the main channel. The work also includes retention dike construction, surveys, and optional ditching and draining of disposal areas.

Work Details
The work includes tasks such as mobilization and demobilization, dredging from Mile 17.0 to Mile 30.0 with specific quantities for different types of material, dike construction for various designated areas, additional dredging for optional work from Mile 30.0 to Mile 34.0 and other specified locations, additional dike construction for optional work at various locations, additional mobilization and demobilization for optional work, ditching/draining of disposal areas for optional work, bird nesting prevention and avoidance measures for optional work.
