CAD/PAD end-to-end supply chain management of inert metal parts kits

The Cartridge Activated Devices/Propellant Actuated Devices (CAD/PAD) Joint Program Office at Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head required an integrated approach for the procurement, quality control, kitting and end-to-end supply chain management of inert metal parts kits to support production of critical safety devices used in cartridge actuated and propellant actuated systems.

NAVAIR contract group awarded a Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) 8(a) sole source set aside Basic Ordering Agreement to Bowhead Avionics Manufacturing, LLC. Bowhead Avionics was the only certified ANC 8(a) program to have the unique manufacturing capabilities, with complex critical safety item tolerances, as well as well-defined quality management program for the life cycle management. Bowhead Avionics Manufacturing was recently awarded a Naval Energetic Systems and Technologies Other Transactional Authority (NEST OTA) N001742290018 contract where they demonstrated thorough insight into the full life cycle logistics management process and prototype solutions to meet this requirement.
