Cableway Crane Refurbishment   3

Background
The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Interior Region 8: Lower Colorado Basin (LCB), is seeking to award a firm-fixed-price contract for the refurbishment of the 150-ton cableway crane at the Hoover Dam. The project aims to ensure the operational integrity and safety of the crane, which is critical for maintenance activities at this significant infrastructure site.

Work Details
The principal components of work include:

1. Replace the 6, 3-½" track cables.
2. Replace the 2, 1-1/8” button line cables and button line tensioners.
3. Refurbish the existing carriage.
4. Install the already fabricated slack carrier.
5. Replace sheaves.
6. Lubricate all wire ropes.
7. Lubricate the hoist house mechanical components and tower sheaves.
8. Re-tension the track cables.
9. Replace the hydraulic hand pump and lines on the NV side tensioning system.
10. Load test the cableway crane.
11. Perform an annual inspection and certify the crane.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from September 30, 2026, to December 29, 2028.

Place of Performance
Hoover Dam Powerplant, approximately 8 miles northeast of Boulder City, Nevada in Clark County, Nevada and Mohave County, Arizona.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision necessary to complete the work as defined in the specifications. They must also furnish any required performance and payment bonds within ten calendar days after award.
