Background
The CA PRA LABE 10(1), Main Road project is located approximately 13 kilometers south of Tulelake, California within the Lava Beds National Monument.
The project is sponsored by the National Park Service and aims to rehabilitate, restore, and resurface (3R) up to approximately 28.8 kilometers of Main Road from the northeastern boundary with the Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge to the southern boundary with the Modoc National Forest, including all existing paved pull-outs, parking areas, and overlooks, and to stabilize and rehabilitate unstable cinder road shoulders to improve safety and reduce maintenance.

Work Details
Rehabilitate, restore, and resurface up to 28.8 kilometers (17.9 miles) of Main Road, including all existing paved pull-outs, parking areas, and overlooks.
Schedule A includes 24.60 km of Main Road, spur roads, and five parking areas; Option V adds 3.65 km of Main Road and one parking area; Option Y adds 0.53 km of Residence Spur Road; Option Z adds 0.04 km of Facility Maintenance Road and a parking area.
Work includes typical 3R roadway with parking lots, minor widening where existing roadway width is less than 24 feet (existing width varies from 20 to 26 feet), superelevation improvements, minor drainage improvements, and concrete curb and sidewalk work.
