Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for the relocation of Endoscopy and finish upgrades to the Same Day Surgery unit at the Marion VA Medical Center (VAMC).

The goal of this contract is to enhance patient care by improving workflow efficiency and accommodating future expansions, including the relocation of a Cath Lab. This project is restricted to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms, and it aims to meet the latest standards in medical facility design and construction.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. **Demolition**: Removal of existing materials as per construction documents.
2. **Architectural Work**: Renovation of Same Day Surgery/Endoscopy areas to comply with current patient care standards, including updates to all support spaces.
3. **Mechanical Systems**: Upgrades to existing HVAC systems to meet VA requirements for 100% outside air in patient care spaces.
4. **Plumbing Systems**: Updates to domestic water systems, medical gas systems, fire protection systems, and wastewater disposal systems.
5. **Electrical/IT/Telecom**: Updates to electrical systems, including arc flash coordination and protective device coordination services during construction.
6. **Construction Phasing**: Implementation of critical path phasing to minimize disruption during construction activities.
7. **Environmental Considerations**: Abatement plans for hazardous materials like asbestos and lead must be included, along with measures for infection control and air quality maintenance during construction.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Marion VA Medical Center Campus in Marion, Illinois.
