Request for Information (RFI): EROS Data Center Power Study and Master Plan   2

Background
The US Geological Survey (USGS) is seeking industry interest and capabilities for the EROS Data Center Power Study and Master Plan. The RFI is issued for information, planning, and market research purposes. It does not constitute a solicitation or an indication of intent to contract for the products or services. The USGS is searching for small business concerns as well as large businesses capable of providing the described products or services.

Work Details
The USGS EROS site houses a data center comprising three computing rooms totaling approximately 20,000 square feet of space for computing equipment. The data center is fully served by uninterruptible power supply units and generator backup.

The USGS seeks information from qualified vendors to assess the current state of the power systems in place at the EROS facility, including substation capacity, line capacity, electrical distribution systems, and power needs for cooling the data center rooms. Vendors are required to provide a comprehensive report detailing limitations of the current infrastructure, propose solutions for maximizing the use of the current infrastructure, and recommend monitoring systems for power and cooling along with emergent technologies in the genre of power backup systems and cooling efficiency.
