Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) KC-130J Program Office (PMA-207) awarded a sole source Contract to Astronautics Corporation of America. The Contract includes a three (3) year ordering period. This Contract provides for the procurement of the AFI4700 Electronic Flight Instrument (EFI) and supporting technical documentation for required Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Technical Standard Orders (TSO). The contract also includes associated software updates, flight test and engineering support.

This sole source acquisition was procured pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) (formerly 2304(c)(1)), One Source or Limited Sources. Astronautics Corporation of America is the original equipment manufacturer of the AFI-4700 EFI, which is the only EFI that meets the Government's size, hardware and software design assurance level, and certification requirements. As such, Astronautics Corporation of America is the only source with the requisite knowledge, experience, and data necessary to provide the Government's requirements and FAA TSO authorization in the most cost effective and timely manner.
