TITLE: BULK DELIVERY (DESIGNATED LOCATION)

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION, NOR REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS/QUOTES. NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SOURCES SOUGHT AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION SYNOPSIS. THIS NOTICE IS BEING POSTED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSE ONLY TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL SMALL AND LARGE BUSINESS WHO MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE AND TO DEFINE THE REQUIREMENT.

RESPONSES ARE FOR INFORMATION ONLY AND SHALL NOT BE USED AS AN OFFER OR PROPOSAL.

PURPOSE: The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), the eCommerce Directorate is requesting letters of interest and questions from qualified vendors who may be interested in participating in a possible solicitation that will establish a commissary wide bulk delivery at designated locations.

DESCRIPTION:

A company who would be willing to load and off load groceries which includes frozen, chill, center store items as well as freshly prepared items of various sizes and quantities on pallets. These items must be transported from the commissary to another site on the installation or off the installation in a temperature controlled refrigerated truck. The orders range anywhere from $1000.00 to $20,000.00 or 2 10 pallets per delivery based on the size, volume, and delivery frequency of the designated locations, but note there are no guarantee on the quantity or amount. Deliveries typically vary anywhere from 3 to 5 days per week depending on the activity, schedules may fluctuate based on the government requirement of needs. This service will potentially be utilized at all DeCA commissaries in the Continental United States (CONUS).

As of now, Delivery/transport vendor will need to furnish the following equipment, materials, and supplies:

1. Refrigerated vehicle to maintain cold chain
2. Refrigerated vehicle will need a lift gate for loading unloading
3. Delivery vendor will need to support all stateside commissaries and designated support locations, i.e., Outpost, Guard and Reserve bases, all locations where authorized customers can be serviced.
4. Must be able to get on military installations
5. Must have good written and oral communication and be able to speak English

All information from interested parties that IS received in response to this source sought and RFI notice will be collected and saved until which time this potential requirement becomes completely defined.

HOW TO PARTICPATE:

The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potentially interested and qualified sources and their size classification (i.e., Small/Large Business, HUBzone, 8(a), etc.). Interested parties must submit a written response that provides information as it relates to their experience with the delivery/transport load and off load groceries which includes frozen, chill, center store items as well as freshly prepared items of various size and quantities on pallets. DeCA is not responsible for any costs associated with the preparation of any response to this request for information, nor any subsequent exchanges.
