DOE's Building America Program has been a source of innovations in residential building energy efficiency and performance, indoor air quality and comfort, durability, quality, and affordability for over 30 years. The program leverages cutting-edge building science research to develop the solutions and best practices needed to advance energy efficiency in homes.

NREL seeks to engage leading subject matter experts (SMEs) in research, field validation, analysis, dissemination, and technical support efforts to address industry needs related to energy efficient building technologies and practices. This work focuses on technical topics including, but not limited to, moisture, humidity, infiltration, envelope upgrades, new construction, retrofits, and whole home solutions. SMEs will also conduct modeling and analysis, data collection, industry analysis, and market scaling support. This work will include knowledge transfer to provide actionable guidance and information to industry stakeholders.

NREL provides technical support to BTO to advance and expand building technologies to enhance the affordability, comfort, resilience, and health while supporting a reliable energy system in buildings. NREL supports Building America through scientific leadership and building science expertise to ensure high-quality, impactful results from Building America's research efforts. NREL is responsible for developing and managing the subject matter expert technical support portfolio.

Background
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is a national laboratory owned by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and is dedicated to research, development, commercialization, and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.

NREL's Building America Program has been a source of innovations in residential building energy efficiency for over 30 years, focusing on enhancing affordability, comfort, resilience, and health in buildings while supporting a reliable energy system. The program aims to address industry needs related to energy-efficient building technologies and practices through the engagement of subject matter experts (SMEs).

Work Details
The subcontractor will provide specific technical assistance and research and development tasks to support NREL and the Building Technologies Office (BTO). The work will focus on technical topics including moisture, humidity, infiltration, envelope upgrades, new construction, retrofits, and whole home solutions.

Tasks will be defined by NREL on an as-needed basis through detailed Statements of Work that outline objectives, work efforts, deliverables, and due dates. The subcontractor will engage in research, field validation, analysis, dissemination of information, and technical support efforts.

Period of Performance
The anticipated basic period of performance is 12 months from the date of subcontract execution with the possibility of four additional twelve-month option periods.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory located at 15013 Denver West Parkway, Golden, CO 80401.
