Background
The Norfolk District, Corps of Engineers is issuing a firm-fixed-price contract for the Design-Bid-Build construction project aimed at completely removing and replacing the existing roof of Building 32, which is part of the Defense Supply Center located in Chesterfield County, Richmond, Virginia.

The facility has undergone multiple renovations since its original construction in the 1940s, and the current roof membranes have reached the end of their serviceable life. The goal of this contract is to ensure a durable and effective roofing solution using EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer) material.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Complete removal and replacement of the existing 170,430 SF roof on Building 32 (bays F-M) with a new in-kind EPDM roof.
2. Removal and in-kind replacement of downspouts, roof drains, expansion joints, covers, flashing, walkway pads, and associated roof components.
3. Removal and blocking off of existing skylights with new roofing material.
4. Removal and in-kind replacement of piping penetrations, conduits, equipment curbs, ladders, and security covers.
5. Existing equipment such as mechanical & static ventilators and mini split condensing units will either remain or be removed for storage and reinstallation.
6. Patch, repair, and repainting of damaged or affected metal panels, louvers, windows, and masonry as part of the re-roofing work.
7. Repairing or retrofitting portions of the existing wood deck as required.
8. Inclusion of lower roofs in the removal and replacement work.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is set for 300 days after notice to proceed.
