Building 217 Visitor Area Security Upgrade

Background
The Building 217 Visitor Area Security Upgrade project is issued by the Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The primary objective of this contract is to enhance physical security and improve facility conditions within the Visitor Area of Building 217.

This project aims to provide a secure environment for visitors while ensuring compliance with existing base security protocols.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform the following tasks:

1. **Security Partition Construction**: Construct approximately 20 linear feet of steel-framed partition in Waiting Room 101, extending from the floor slab to the original structural ceiling, using commercial-grade steel framing members and sound attenuation material. Finish all new drywall surfaces to a Level 4 standard.

2. **Door and Access Control Installation**: Install one 38-inch solid wood door with a commercial-grade hollow metal frame and a cypher lock system integrated with existing security protocols.

3. **Ceiling and Finishes Restoration**: Modify the existing suspended ceiling grid as necessary, repair it, and install new Acoustic Ceiling Tiles (ACT). Install a new area of rubber tile as specified in the drawings.

4. **Surface Preparation & Painting**: Prepare approximately 4,500 sq. ft. of wall surfaces in various rooms including Processing Room (111), Observation Room (110), Waiting Area (101), Corridor (106), and six Exam Rooms (102-109). This includes cleaning, patching, sanding, applying one coat of primer, and two finish coats of commercial-grade interior acrylic/latex paint.
