The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), Code 85 supports the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) Lime Kaiser program. The Lime Kaiser program is tasked with performing in-water testing of equipment associated with their program. This requirement is for the purchase of silver-zinc battery cells for deep submergence application on various undersea vehicles. NUWCDIVNPT intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to BST Systems, Inc. (CAGE Code 62399). The relevant North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 335911. The Small Business Size Standard is 1,250 employees. The NUWCDIVNPT Office for Small Business Programs concurs with this sole source determination. The silver zinc battery cells (P/N ZAH75DC-2X), manufactured by BST Systems, Inc., is the only company that can produce these battery cells that are of the correct, size, weight, voltage and power capability to meet the testing requirements associated with the Lime Kaiser program. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Offers for other products must contain complete product information and prices. Responses to the attached RFQ N66604-22-Q-0267 must be received by 2:00PM EST on 20 June 2022.
