Background
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is responsible for the protection, management, and control of wild horses and burros on public lands under the provisions of the Act of December 15, 1971. The Bruneau Off Range Corrals (ORC), located in north central Owyhee County, Idaho, serves as a holding facility for these animals. The BLM requires contracted services for hoof trimming to maintain the health and welfare of approximately 2,000 wild horses and burros housed at this facility.

Work Details
The contractor will provide hoof trimming services for wild horses and burros at the Bruneau ORC. Key tasks include:
1. Trimming hooves with minimal stress and injury to the animals.
2. Working effectively with BLM personnel to trim up to 90 animals per day.
3. Using appropriate tools such as electrically powered or cordless angle grinders compatible with aluminum flat discs or abrasive pads.
4. Conducting all trimming while the animal is secured in a hydraulic tilt chute.
5. Specific trimming requirements include:
- Trimming heels and toes to natural angles and lengths.
- Ensuring bars are straight and tapered, removing necessary sole for level hooves, addressing wall flares, rolling outer hoof walls as needed, and applying 'Target Trimming' principles.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2030.
