BROWNS DRAW CULTURAL RESOURCES INVENTORY
A Class III (intensive) field inventory of approximately 1,578 BLM acres of public land in Moffat County, Colorado is requested. The CRI is required prior to cut and piling, and prescribed burning to locate, evaluate and adequately protect all sites from the effects of the undertaking. All newly identified sites and isolated finds located will be recorded and mapped.
Background
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is responsible for managing public lands and ensuring the protection of cultural resources under the National Historic Preservation Act. This contract aims to conduct a Class III (intensive) cultural resource inventory on approximately 1,578 acres of BLM land in Moffat County, Colorado, prior to planned cut and piling, and prescribed burning activities. The goal is to locate, evaluate, and protect all cultural sites from potential impacts due to these undertakings.

Work Details
The contractor will perform a Class III cultural resource inventory which includes:

1) Locating and evaluating all newly identified sites and isolated finds;
2) Recording and mapping all identified sites;
3) Relocating previously recorded sites that are over 10 years old for re-evaluation;
4) Completing OAHP Cultural Re-Visitation Forms for sites identified within the last 10 years;
5) Testing potentially eligible sites for depth potential, integrity, and eligibility;
6) Recording cadastral survey monuments with GPS;
7) Conducting pre-field literature and records review to gather existing information on cultural resources in the Area of Potential Effect (APE);
8) Following established inventory standards and guidelines as specified in BLM documents;
9) Conducting a pedestrian survey at specified transect intervals to identify cultural resources;
10) Ensuring all site-specific information is kept confidential and returned to BLM upon project completion.

Period of Performance
The contract period of performance is from May 1, 2025, to February 27, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be conducted on BLM-administered lands in Moffat County, Colorado, specifically within the Little Snake Field Office.
