This solicitation is being amended.

The purpose of Amendment 0001 is to: (1) remove the sole source requirement since there authorized distributors for Bren-tronics Defense, (2) add small business set-aside to the requirement and (3) extend the solicitation response deadline to 10:00 AM EDT on Friday 22 August 2025

Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Bren-tronics Defense LLC for MIL-PRF compliant Li6T Batteries on a Sole Source basis.

Background
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is responsible for research and development in power and energy, providing engineering and technical support to various Department of Defense (DoD) organizations.

They are issuing a contract to Bren-tronics Defense LLC for the procurement of MIL-PRF compliant Li6T Batteries on a sole source basis. This contract supports the OSD funded OECIF RAVIOLI program, which aims to develop lithium battery containment systems for retrofitting Li6T batteries onto LVSR and FMTV truck platforms. The goal is to acquire Bren-tronics Li6T batteries for laboratory testing.

Work Details
The contract includes the following specific products:
1. Thirteen (13) modified Bren-tronics Li6T batteries, part number BT-70939M-TPB, with modifications that include:
- CAN communication remains intact
- Safety features disabled (thermal fuses removed, cell pack PTCs shorted, charge/discharge bilateral switch shorted)
- Two (2) 200W, 120VAC cartridge heaters added on a single cell pack
- Six (6) Type-K thermocouples, 6' length added
- Eight (8) cell voltage sense wires added; these samples are configured as Type A/B/C combined.
2. Five (5) unmodified Bren-tronics Li6T batteries, part number BT-70939M-TPB, compliant with military specification MIL-PRF-32565. These batteries are also detailed in the attached Bren-tronics datasheet.

The products will be delivered to NSWC Carderock Division, 9500 Macarthur Blvd, Bethesda, MD 20817.
