Brandon Road Interbasin Project - Right Descending Bank Wall

Background
The Brandon Road Interbasin Project (BRIP) is located at and immediately downstream of the Brandon Road Lock and Dam near Illinois Waterway River Mile No. 286 on the Des Plaines River in Joliet, Illinois. The project aims to control the upstream transfer of aquatic nuisance species (ANS) at the lock and dam. It includes several components such as an Engineered Channel (EC) and a flushing lock feature, with various deterrents proposed for modeling and design, including electric, acoustic, and air bubble deterrents.

The project is divided into three design and construction increments, with this notice focusing on Increment II – Right Descending Bank Wall.

Work Details
The work under this contract involves construction tasks related to the Right Descending Bank Wall as part of Increment II of the Brandon Road Interbasin Project. Key tasks include:
1) Modeling, developing, and designing deterrents within the Engineered Channel;
2) Constructing guidewalls under unique site constraints;
3) Installing utility support systems for the project;
4) Creating upstream and downstream boat ramps for waterway access;
5) Coordinating with ComEd during construction;
6) Managing potential corrective measures during construction;
7) Submitting a critical path method construction schedule demonstrating an efficient sequence for completing work. Contractors must demonstrate experience with similar projects, including scope, costs, schedules, and management of subcontractors.
