Description

A boat storage/workspace is needed to temporarily provide a place for boat storage and work to be done during the crucial off-season preparation period.

Background
The Lake Michigan Field Station (LMFS) in Muskegon, MI is a government-owned facility that supports the missions of the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) in Ann Arbor, MI. The LMFS operates and maintains 15 small vessels between 20 feet and 80 feet, and vessel support is a large part of its function. Due to construction projects in FY24, the facility needs to lease 3270 SF of climate-controlled boat storage/workspace to temporarily provide a place for boat storage and work during the off-season preparation period.

Work Details
The scope of work includes leasing 3270 SF of climate-controlled boat storage/workspace for the boat crew during FY24 construction period. The space should be in close proximity to the LMFS field station (less than 5 miles) and should allow for maintenance work to be completed on stored boats. Additionally, there should be a walled separation of the boats from other renters of storage, and gas and electric utilities should be provided.
