Description

This action was awarded as an 8(a) Sole Source Set-Aside under the authority of section 8(a) of the Small Business Act.

The contractor shall furnish all parts, material, labor, equipment and supervision necessary to complete the work for Building 37573, provide cooling air to the two control rooms adjacent to the anechoic chamber. Existing airflow cooling the main portion of the facility that has been diverted to these two rooms is inadequate. Additionally, there are a number of electrical items needed in the facility that will require upgrade/replacement of one of the main electrical panels.

The work shall include the following requirements listed in the specific requirements.

  1. The cooling and electrical work will include the following:
    1. The contractor shall install (2) mini-split type air conditioning units, One Per room. The power supply will require RF filters. 1-2 hole in each room to be located on the north wall. Power for the mini-splits shall be feed from the existing panel in the chamber West Room. Armored cable will be used to run the power.
    2. The contractor shall run all associated piping/electrical for these units through the east wall of the shielded enclosure and the facility.
    3. The contractor shall place a concrete pad of sufficient size on the east side of the facility to accommodate the associated condenser(s) (~12'x4') plus additional area needed for future use.
    4. The contractor shall provide a replacement electrical panel of sufficient size to accommodate the new loads on the north wall of the facility.
    5. The contractor shall conduct all necessary Anechoic Chamber testing (POC Antonio Cardenas, Advanced Testing Services, Inc., 3852 Hawkins St NE, 87109, Office 292-2032, Cell 703-626-4064) after construction is complete to ensure 100 db effectiveness requirements for each control room are met. Mr. Antonio Cardenas to perform all cleaning of the chamber as well as the sleeve to penetrate the north wall of the chamber.
    6. Contractor shall provide and install (2) Cord reels in the ceiling on north side of the building. These shall be two new dedicated 20a circuits, quad box, single phase, on the north truss approximately 20 feet from the north wall facing down. The receptacles will be approximately 13 feet in the air. The cord reels shall have a 3-receptacle power strip.
    7. Contractor shall provide and install (4) Surface mounted receptacles within the facility (1) 20A in front south beam 36 AFF (1) 20A in back south beam 36 AFF (1) 30A 2P 36 AFF left side of North Garage Door (1) 30A 2P 36 AFF right side of the North Garage Door. Powe will come from Panel A.
    8. Contractor shall install (1) 4 Sleeve to the exterior in line with shielded enclosure. Coordinate with Customer for exact location.
    9. Contactor to provide and install (2) 50A Twistlock Plug for customer owned box on the North wall of the facility on either side of the garage door. Coordinate with Customer prior to installation.
    10. Contractor will need to provide a 50A circuit, 4 wire inside the equipment room on the east wall ~3ft above the floor. It shall be compatible with a southwire xtreme box model 01970 which will be plugged into the 50A receptacle. One 10 ft power cord will be provided that will power the southwire xtreme box model 01970 from this newly installed 50A circuit. This will require new EMI filters that will be installed on the ceiling. This filter will protect the conduit and the plug.
    11. The project will have a total of 10 filters two each on the north wall 2 penetrations, 2 on the wall separating the two rooms above the door also to be 2 and a large box on the East end containing 4 filters.
    12. Contractor shall place an L5 20AMP and 30 AMP recitable on each side of the garage door.
    13. Contractor will also need to place an L6 30AMP receptacle on the West side of the garage door.
