The USDA, Forest Service has a requirement for the Black River Falls Overlook rehabilitation located on the Ottawa National Forest. Please see the attached bid documents.

All questions shall be submitted by September 24, 2025. Questions submitted after this date may not be addressed.

Background
The USDA Forest Service has a requirement for the rehabilitation of the Black River Falls Overlook located on the Ottawa National Forest.
The goal of this contract is to reconstruct the overlook to enhance visitor experience and safety while preserving the natural environment.

Work Details
The construction tasks include:
1. Replacement of approximately 200 linear feet of existing timber steps with an elevated wood stair structure supported on either helical piers or concrete piers, approximately 5 ft wide with a maximum support spacing of 20 ft.
2. Localized replacements of pier foundations along an existing stair alignment that is approximately 320 ft long, along with the construction of two new viewing platforms, each approximately 50 square feet requiring two to four new pier foundations.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from May 1, 2026, to October 31, 2027.

Ottawa National Forest, Ironwood, Michigan.
